safety

Last night I was listening to some talks from church leaders. They were discussing the current economic status and how and where saints are finding security. Some of my favorite quotes were used.

  • Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
  • If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
  • There cannot be fear and faith in the same body.
  • Hope dispels despair.
There were many statements made but these above stood out so powerfully to me. Yesterday as I was blogs stalking I came across a ward members blog. I stalk her blog regularly but yesterday it was one of those !DING! moments. Her husband was in the pool of candidates who went to work yesterday wondering if he'd be going today. Fortunately, for her and I, our husbands both went back to work this morning. Many weren't so lucky. On her blog she said this:

"I have just been so grateful to know there is a God and that He loves me and my family. I have just wished everyone knew that because I know it would help them cope."

Thanks for the reminder of another way our faith brings us hope which while life does suck (if not for me right now, for someone) God loves us and wants to wrap His arms around us and pull us close. He has a plan and a purpose and He will protect us and be with us as much as we will allow Him.

Please continue to pray for people you don't know. They need it!! People are feeling great despair and unimaginable pain. Consider the woman sitting next to you on the bus or at church or the one who just gave you a dirty look for no apparent reason. Maybe it's the person who is always on top of everything and has it all put together that needs your prayers. Maybe it's you, yourself in need of a good conversation with God. Just continue to pray. Our nation will be blessed, our homes will be blessed and our souls will be blessed.
